NTA notified NEET-UG 2021 score may be used in nursing courses

n 12th March the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a notification announcing the date for NEET-UG 2021 examination going to held on 01st August 2021 in eleven languages, also stating that the scores of NEET 2021 may be used for nursing admissions in 82,950 MBBS seats, 26,949 BDS seats,  52,720 AYUSH seats and veterinary seats.  Further notifying that exam will be held only once a year and will be based on pen-paper mode.  

In addition to this notification also stated that the result of NEET-UG 2021 exam may be utilized by the Central /State governments including Indian Nursing Council/ Nursing colleges/ JIPMER. It can also be utilized in getting admissions in various other courses like B.Sc (Nursing) and B.Sc (Life Sciences) in accordance with their norms. 

It is learned that NEET examination for MBBS medical course has been going all over India for the last few years including Tamil Nadu. It is noteworthy that only few states are opposed to this NEET exam. Almost all the political parties in Tamil Nadu have been vocal against the extension. Students are shocked to learn that NEET is now mandatory for Nursing and Siddha courses as they are protesting against NEET’s selection for the MBBS medical course.  

Students are reportedly shocked by National Testing Agency announcement that NEET exams will be mandatory in nursing, siddha and unani courses from this year onwards. This announcement is in line with the notification released by NTA regarding its NEET-UG 2021 examination. Following this, political party leaders and social activists are expected to stage a protest.
