Corrections Policy
How we handle factual errors, updates, and reader correction requests.
Last updated: May 2026 · Effective since: 2020
Our promise
When we publish something incorrect, we fix it quickly, openly, and at the top of the article. We don’t quietly edit history.
What counts as a correction
- Factual error — wrong name, date, number, location, attribution, or any verifiable fact.
- Misleading framing — accurate facts presented in a way that materially distorts the story.
- Missing context — significant information omitted that changes how a reasonable reader interprets the piece.
How we mark corrections
- A correction note is added at the top of the article in italics, in the form: Correction (DD Month YYYY): The original version of this article stated X. The correct figure is Y. We regret the error.
- The article’s “Updated” timestamp is set to the moment the correction goes live.
- Our newsletter republishes significant corrections in the next edition.
Minor edits vs. corrections
Typos, broken links, and routine copy edits are not flagged as corrections — we make those silently. Anything that changes meaning is treated as a correction.
How to request a correction
Email editor@nursingnews.in with:
- The article URL.
- The specific statement that’s wrong (a quote helps).
- What the correct information is, and a source we can verify.
We acknowledge correction requests within 24 hours and resolve them within 2 business days.
If we get it really wrong
For serious errors (entire premise wrong, defamatory content, etc.) we publish a separate correction notice on the homepage in addition to the article-level note, and email any sources or subjects who were materially affected.
