BSc Nursing and Allied Health Science courses admission to be based on NEET 2021 merit score

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry notifies on carrying out BSc Nursing and Allied Health Science Courses admission on the basis of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test [UG] (NEET-UG) merit score for the academic session of 2021-22. The Institute said the aforementioned in its recent notice. The statement reads “Admission to BSc Nursing & Allied Health Science Courses at JIPMER for the Academic year 2021-22 will be based on merit score of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) [NEET(UG)] 2021 conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).” No separate Entrance examination will be taken by JIPMER for the purpose of admission to BSc courses in the year 2021-22.  

In accordance with the official notice, the counseling and admission procedures are to be conducted by the varsity itself. However, candidates wanting to take admission in the aforementioned courses will have to register themselves separately at JIPMER’s official website jipmer.edu.in.  The registration procedure and other essential specifications will be announced on the website in the future. For upcoming updates and notices, candidates are advised to visit the official website of JIPMER from time to time. 

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the NEET-UG Entrance exam every year to offer admission to numerous medical courses at every participating university all around the country under the All India quota and state quota. NTA has already announced the date of the Entrance examination this year. The All India Medical Entrance Examination will be taken on August 1, 2021. 

Earlier, NEET scores were only taken into consideration for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and Veterinary Courses but now, its merit score will be also be examined for admission to BSc Nursing and BSc Life Science Courses in various universities like JIPMER. 

All essential details including the syllabus, the question pattern, eligibility criteria, categorization of seats, examination fee, reservation, cities of examination, state code, etc. will be uploaded as an information bulletin on the official website of NTA ntaneet.nic.in shortly. According to their recent notice, NEET-UG 2021 is going to be conducted in eleven languages including English and Hindi via pen and paper mode across the country.
