Indian Nursing Council (INC) comes up with Virtual Capacity Building Program for Midwifery

The Indian Nursing Council (INC) has entered into a partnership with the UNPF (United Nations Population Fund) for organizing training in schools and colleges under the Virtual Capacity Building Program. This training program, as per the INC, will be going a long way towards equipping midwifery faculty for enhanced training skills and teaching while getting updated regarding the latest guidelines issued by the Government of India. Training will be provided absolutely free of cost for all participants.  

The topics covered include educational methodology, midwifery education and practice concepts, latest educational technology, maternal health programs of the Indian Government, evidence-based midwifery care, gender-based violence and contraception and family welfare linked services. There will be 3-4 faculty members from every institution with the M.Sc (N) qualification and also with OBG nursing specialization or specialization in community health nursing or Pediatrics. OBG faculty will get preference while clinical nurse midwives who are working at maternity units of affiliated hospitals will also be eligible to participate.  

A certificate of completion will be given post training and 15 CNE credit hours with the condition of complete attendance in addition to scoring 70% marks in the assignments and tests likewise.
