Approx 4 Lacs Nurses Have National Unique Identity Number

National Unique Identity Number (NUID) is issued to approx 4 lacs nurses as per the Nurses Registration & Tracking System. ‘Indian Nursing Council Regulations, 2019’, read here, came into effect in May 2019 with set of guidelines to create a nursing professionals database.

The system was developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC) with standardized form elements to collect the nurses data with Aadhar based biometric authentication. After approval, a card will be provided to the nurses.

There are multiple registries of health are planned under National Digital Health Mission (NDHM). Under this scheme, master data of healthcare entities will be created. Healthcare entities include, doctors, hospitals, clinics, laboratories, pharmacies, and insurance companies.

There are 4 modules of registration as below

  • Enrollment Registration
  • Primary Registration
  • Reciprocal/Renewal/Additional Registration
  • Institute Registration

To maintain the live register, nurses has to register every 5 year and 150 hours of Continue Nursing Education (CNE) is required to avoid penalties.

NRTS portal can be used to renew the registration and submit CNEs.
