New Delhi, October 2025 — The Indian Nursing Council (INC) has announced an extension of the last date for admission to ANM, GNM, and B.Sc. (Nursing) programs for the academic year 2025-26. The new deadline for admissions is now 30th November 2025.
This decision comes following requests from various States, seeking additional time to complete the admission process for nursing students.
Key Details of the Notification
- Previous notification reference: INC Notification No. 10 of 2025 dated 17 September 2025
- New admission deadline: 30 November 2025
- Regular Batch: Students admitted up to 31 October 2025 will be considered part of the Regular Batch.
- Irregular Batch: Students admitted from 1 November 2025 to 30 November 2025 will be considered part of the Irregular Batch.
- The total number of students admitted in both batches must not exceed the sanctioned annual intake.
Guidelines for Institutions
a) For B.Sc. (Nursing):
Universities and Colleges must implement the B.Sc. (N) program semester-wise. Examinations for Regular and Irregular batches must be conducted separately, and institutions must ensure compliance with the revised B.Sc.(N) syllabus and semester requirements before conducting examinations.
b) For GNM & ANM:
Eligibility and examination procedures must strictly follow the INC-prescribed syllabi.
c) No further extension:
The Council has clearly stated that no further extension of the admission deadline will be granted. Admissions after 30 November 2025 will not be recognized under any circumstances.
Compliance and Oversight
- No deviation in admission criteria will be accepted by the State Examination Boards, Councils, or Universities.
- The INC has directed strict action by State authorities against institutions or managements that fail to comply with the prescribed admission norms.
- Adherence to admission terms and conditions specified by the INC is mandatory for all nursing programs.
