‘CT in a Box’ came as a distinct remedy to face the complications of Covid-19. Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) at Mumbai, first, has got the opportunity to get installed Wipro GE Healthcare’s innovation – ‘CT in a Box’. It helps to diagnose Covid-19 in less time.
A cartel of three companies, namely, PNB Housing Finance, Larsen & Tourbo, and SNC – Lavalin came arm in arm to increase the efforts and provided their facility to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The three companies helped in a view to complete their CSR.‘CT in a Box’ is a unique solution that helps in accelerating the CT diagnostic solutions during the isolated CT similar to the Coivd-19 pandemic.
AERB ( Atomic Energy Regulatory Board) has gone through the innovation and approved it. This solution has two parts:-
1) CT machine to diagnose corona virus.
2) House which keeps this box.
It reduces secondary infections by avoiding physical contact. Maharashtra, infelicitously, had fallen in the highest tap of Covid-19. MMRDA (Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority) which has been leading from the front in the fight with pandemic has established the biggest Covid center at BKC grounds. ‘CT in a Box’ with dimensions 40ft x 11 ft x 9.5 ft facilitates fireproofing, sound insulation, radiation protection, and air conditioning. It also facilitates in decontaminating measures like:-
1) Lead lining and radiation for more protection.
2) UV light for killing the microorganism.
3) Space readiness is made speedy by help of HEPA filters.
Bharat Gala, senior vice-president of SNL-Lavalin said that they were extremely privileged for extending their support in the fight with Covid-19. He also said that CT Box is a unique innovation for diagnostic facilities for corona patients. Hardayal Prasad, MD & CEO of PNB Housing Finance, was also pleased to help in combating the pandemic.
PNB Housing Finance consciously helped in strengthening lifesaving infrastructure. DR. Hasit Joshipura, chief in L&T, was very happy to contribute to innovating GE Healthcare’s’ CT in a Box. He also said that they have been supporting the various healthcare facilities across the country since the beginning of the pandemic.
MD of Wipro GE Healthcare, Shravan Subramanyam has said that the company is very proud of supporting the Hon. Prime minister’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ as “CT in a Box’ is complete ‘Made in India’ concept. He thanked CSR partners for joining hands during the hassle of the pandemic.
Hon. Minister Shri Eknath Shinde, Urban Development and Public Works praised on installation and thanked all responsible teams. He also said that it will help in strengthening our efforts in the fight against corona virus.
Wipro GE Healthcare not only innovated this unique instrument but also provided online application support through Digital Experts. Proper arrangements for disinfecting protocols and additional cleanliness are also made for the technicians working on the CT.
