The Indian Society of Psychiatric Nursing (ISPN) recently organized its 22nd Annual Conference – ISPN CON-2023 in collaboration with the Institute of Nursing Education, Directorate of Health Services. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, who commended the dedication and hard work of nurses, stating that they deserve to be saluted.

Dr. Sawant emphasized the crucial role that nurses play in the healthcare system, highlighting their round-the-clock devotion to their patients. “Nurses work tirelessly to ensure the wellbeing of their patients. They are always ready to go the extra mile, and their selfless service is truly commendable,” he said.

The three-day conference provided a platform for nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals to exchange ideas and discuss the latest developments in the field of psychiatric nursing. The theme of the conference was “Mental Health Nursing: Integrating Science and Practice,” which aimed to promote the integration of scientific research and practical experience in mental health nursing.

During the conference, various keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interactive workshops were held to discuss topics such as mental health disorders, the use of technology in mental health care, and the role of mental health nurses in promoting mental wellness.

Dr. Sawant’s words of appreciation for the nursing profession and the commitment of nurses to their patients are sure to boost the morale of nursing students and professionals alike. Dr. K. Reddemma, President of the Indian Society of Psychiatric Nursing (ISPN) highlighted the importance of knowledge sharing and expertise gathering among nurses during the recently concluded 22nd Annual Conference – ISPN CON-2023.

Dr. Reddemma emphasized the need for nurses to keep themselves updated with the latest information, knowledge, and new innovations and skills in the field of nursing. She advised them to share their knowledge and experience among themselves, develop the ability to understand the needs and problems of people, and create and develop the ability to provide solutions. T. Dileep Kumar was one of the distinguished speakers and shared his insights and experiences with attendees at the conference.
